This 90-minute Seine River walking tour allows you to experience the beauty of Paris’ famous river while learning about its history, highlights, architecture, bridges, and sights.
The tour will start at the Henry IV statue located in the centre of the Pont Neuf – the first Parisian bridge built in stone. Your guide will provide you with interesting facts about the Île de la Cité around you, before moving onto the southern bank of the Seine. Upon reaching the Pont des Arts, you will get to experience stunning views and learn about the amazing bridge that dates to the 19th century.
At the Pont du Carrousel and Pont Royal, your guide will tell you stories of the Rive Gauche and the Rive Droite — two very different sides — and you will get to understand a vital part of Paris’ identity. You will also get to see the Louvre on the northern bank!
The tour ends outside the Musée d’Orsay.
Musée d’Orsay
If you have upgraded to a skip-the-line museum ticket, you can go inside the incredible Musée d’Orsay and see the impressionist paintings France is renowned for. Be sure to check out Monet’s ‘Nymphéas bleus’ or Renoir’s ‘Bal au Moulin de Galette’. And then enjoy a wander around to explore the amazing paintings, sculptures, decorative arts, photographs, and the stunning sunlit interior. You are best to spend around two hours there, but for all the art lovers out there – you are welcome to spend a whole day! Plus, walk up to the museum terrace for great views of the Seine and all the bridges that you just explored.
Seine River Cruise
You can also upgrade to the Seine River boat ride and cruise down the river to see the sights you just learned about from your guide. Seeing Paris from the water is a different kind of special as you gain a unique perspective of the city. The best part is that your ticket is valid for a full year, so you can either hop on the boat after the walking tour or come back later.
